Panorama Audiovisual: Six Out of Ten Spanish Households with Internet Pay to Watch Audiovisual Content Online

The National Markets and Competition Commission ( CNMC ) has analysed the audiovisual consumption of Spaniards through online payment platforms, such as Netflix, HBO Max or Amazon Prime Video. According to the latest data from the CNMC Household Panel, at the end of 2023, these types of payment platforms were present in 62% of households with Internet access.

M9 News: Finally, Huge Relief for OTT Platforms

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has decided not to impose rules on Over-The-Top (OTT) platforms as part of its new broadcasting policy. People have debated whether these platforms should be regulated, with some saying they should be. However, TRAI believes that putting too many rules on them could make it harder for them to grow and do business easily. Instead of strict rules, TRAI suggests making it easier for these platforms to get permissions to operate.

Advanced Television: Portugal’s pay-TV Growth at Lowest Rate Since 2023

At the end of the first quarter of 2024, there were 4.6 million pay-TV subscribers in Portugal, 88,000 more than in the same period last year (+2 per cent), the slowest growth since 2013. Most subscriptions (96 per cent) are bundled with other telecommunications services, with only 2 per cent sold alone, according to data published by the National Communications Authority (Anacom).
